Correction of congenital leg deformity (valgus) to improve prosthetic wear

Doctor: S. Robert Rozbruch

Patient: Steven

Steven is 30 year old with congenital leg deformity and severe shortening.

He has difficulty with prosthetic wear because of the leg deformity.

He underwent osteotomy of the tibia and fibula and gradual correction of the deformity and a modest lengthening using the Ilizarov / Taylor Spatial Frame.

With the leg straightened and partially lengthened, he is comfortable and functional in the prosthesis.

This deformity correction will also protect his knee from developing arthritis.
