Lengthening and then Nailing
(LATN) of a Femur Malunion
Doctor: S. Robert Rozbruch
Patient: Philip
|
|
Philip
had a deformity (20 degrees varus, external rotation) and shortening
(3.2 cm) of his femur. His problems included feeling off balance
and back pain.

|
Acute
correction of his deformity was accomplished percutaneously
and then gradual lengthening was done with a monolateral frame.
After three weeks an intrameduallary rod was inserted and the
frame was removed.
