Correction of a foot deformity

Doctor: S. Robert Rozbruch

Patient: Nicole

Nicole is a young woman born with sacral agenesis. This caused deformities of her feet. She has had many previous surgeries but still has a severe deformity of her left foot making walking and shoe wear difficult.

The deformity is valgus, pronation, and external rotation.

A minimally invasive osteotomy (bone cut) was made, and a frame was applied to match her foot deformity.

Gradual adjustment of the frame over a few weeks straightened her foot. She was able to walk and bear weight during this treatment.

The frame was removed at 3 months and there is correction of the deformity and bone healing of the osteotomy.
